Science Night
Murdock Science Night will be held on February 16, 2017.  A science night project is a unique way for students to pose questions for which they must seek out answers and to satisfy their own curiosity about the world around them. It represents the efforts of a student's investigation into some area of interest and provides a way for the student to share the results of those investigations. The process of a project allows students the opportunity to develop a first-hand appreciation of the work of scientists and the value of their discoveries.

PTA Nominations & Elections

It’s that time again! Time to nominate a new PTA Executive Board for the 2017-2018 school year. The majority of seats held are a two-year commitment and for most, those two years are up. This month at the PTA meeting, the Nomination Committee was announced and approved. The purpose of the nominating committee is to recognize and seek qualified nominees for the elected leadership of the PTA. The members of the committee, therefore, have a tremendous influence on the future of the PTA and should be selected carefully.

The Nomination Committee consists of five members and two alternates. This years Nomination Committee is as follows…

Tania Juarez

Hilda Garcia

Kim Nguyen

Lydia Milican

Amber Gonzalez

Alternates: April Rodriguez and Jen Bailey

The election for the future board will be held at a meeting on April 6th right before the classrooms open for Open House.

Box Tops for Education

Box Tops coupons can be found on many familiar brand items such as: General Mills, Ziploc, Huggies, and many more. All of the non-expired, valid Box Tops that Murdock submits are worth $.10 each, it doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up.  Don’t forget to ask family and friends to keep these little coupons and pass them along to your student – each one counts.

Murdock receives a check twice a year to be used for art projects, extra supplies, and any other items that are not in the school or PTA budget that the teachers encounter during the year. What a great way to earn money for our students without actually writing a check!

interested in getting involved, but may not have the time to be on campus during the day. We are always looking for additional parents/guardians to count and organize these little coupons, which can be done at home (while binging on Netflix), on your lunch hour or midnight the night before they’re due  Our teachers will appreciate it and our students will definitely benefit from it. Thank you!
